Niklas Natt and Dag’s trilogy about Cardell & Winge is one of Sweden’s most successful book series to date. The novels have been praised around the world for their descriptions of late 18th-century Stockholm, multifaceted characters, and vivid language.

The Wolf and the Watchman, the first installment in the trilogy, is now published in a new form, as a graphic novel. The beautiful illustrations are made by Francesco Dossena, Italian art director and illustrator, born in Milan in 1977. Francesco Dossena studied sculpture at Brera academy of fine art, then started working as a concept artist and toy designer. He began his career in comics with the publisher Cut Up over fifteen years ago, and nowadays he works with Sergio Bonelli Editore and Bugs Comics.
