Nelly Rapp och gastarna i skolan Nelly Rapp and the School Ghosts
Nelly Rapp, illustrated by Christina Alvner #17
Nelly Rapp has learned to handle monsters and other dangerous beings with the help of the three C’s: calm, cleverness and cunning. But is this the right approach if you want to teach three school-tired ghosts how to read and count?
Nelly and Valle are on a cycling holiday. Their teacher from the Monster Academy has advised them to set camp near an abandoned school. The camp site looks idyllic, but at night they can hear loud screams coming from the old school. Frightened but curious they sneak inside and are met by a strange sight: an old ghost trying to teach three mischievous little specters how to read and count. He says this is his very last task before he can have peace.
Nelly and Valle realize they must help him, and the ghost gratefully lets them take the reins. They start by letting the ghosts feel part of process, and then proceed to use their three C’s in an inventive and cunning new way…
Nelly Rapp and the School Specters is the seventeenth adventure featuring Nelly Rapp, monster agent extraordinaire.
Reviews
-
“This is an easy-to-read and tragicomic book that fits all ages. /…/ This book series is so much fun to read! This adventure is great as a summer read, when Nelly and Valle are biking (…) camping, eating ice-cream and solving mysteries.”
-
“Sure, it’s important to have sassy, savvy, brave, and clever girls in children’s literature – just like Nelly Rapp – but it’s also important to portrait smart, thoughtful and sympathetic young boys – just like Valle. /…/ This book series is so much fun to read! /…/ The combination of Widmark and Alvner is a match made in humor heaven.”
