Horst & Sandnes, Jo Nesbø and Bobbie Peers the most sold of the decade in Norway
There’s no disputing that the biggest children’s books duo of the decade in Norway is Jørn Lier Horst & Hans Jørgen Sandnes. The author/illustrator duo’s series about Detective Agency No. 2 claims a whopping 17 placements on the top 100 list of most sold titles 2010-2020. Fourteen of those titles are in the top 50, and four in the top 10, with Operation Thundercloud coming in at No. 4, Operation Summer Island at No. 6, Operation Shadowman at No. 9, and Operation Sunset at No. 10.
Horst & Sandnes are not the only ones to feature several times over on the list: Jo Nesbø and Bobbie Peers also appear multiple times, staking their claim as trendsetters within children’s fiction. Jo Nesbø grabs 4 spots with his Doktor Proctor series, and Bobbie Peers nabs 2 with his William Wenton series.
The weekly Swedish bestseller lists
This week, Anders Roslund holds the most top placements on the official bestseller lists in Sweden. Roslund’s Sweet Dreams is not only No. 1 in hardcover, it’s No. 1 in e-book as well, and No. 2 in audio. The prequel, Knock Knock, is No. 2 in paperback and No. 4 in e-book. Joining Roslund on the paperback list is Simona Arhnstedt, whose Just A Bit More stays firmly put at No. 6.
The June bestseller lists in Sweden
The month of June saw Anders Roslund appear with two books on the bestseller lists: Knock Knock at No. 7 on the paperback list, and Sweet Dreams at No. 7 in audio and No. 10 in e-book. Stina Jackson likewise grabbed a spot on the e-book bestseller list, coming in at No. 8 with The Last Snow.

It’s official: Jo Nesbø, Jørn Lier Horst and Lars Kepler are three of the most sold authorships in Norway during the last decade. On the top hundred list for best selling fiction titles, Nesbø claims a whopping 8 placements, while Horst grabs 7, and Kepler 3. Among Nesbø’s featured titles, two are in the top three: Police, at No. 2, and Phantom, at No. 3.

Jørn Lier Horst & Thomas Enger’s just published third Blix & Ramm novel, Unhinged, jumps straight to No. 1 on the e-book bestseller list in Norway, and starts off its upcoming streak on the hardcover list at No. 2. Horst & Hans Jørgen Sandnes’ The Search for the Last Dinosaur meanwhile shifts one placement, to No. 3.
On the paperback list, Jo Nesbø’s Knife is No. 3, followed by Jørn Lier Horst’s The Inner Darkness at No. 4, and lastly Stefan Ahnhem’s X Ways to Die at No. 5.

This time it is their most recent The Search for the Last Dinosaur, an activity book in the Detective Agency No. 2 series, that grabs the top spot. Operation Trickster appears on the list as well, coming in at No. 6.
