Hedvig Montgomery’s The Adolescent Years grabs the No. 2 spot on this week’s bestseller list for non-fiction in Norway. The paperback list’s No. 2 placement goes to Jørn Lier Horst and The Inner Darkness, book 3 in the Cold Case Quartet. Smoke Screen, by Horst & Thomas Enger, follows close behind at No. 4.

Jørn Lier Horst No. 2 in Slovakia
The Inner Darkness, the third installment in the Cold Case Quartet by Jørn Lier Horst, is No. 2 on the biggest online bookstore and second biggest physical retailer in Slovakia, Martinus’, e-book list. The Inner Darkness also comes in at No. 3 on Martinus’ Top 100 list for printed titles.

‘The Wolf and the Watchman’ awarded with Icelandic Icepick Award
The Icelandic edition of Niklas Natt och Dag’s debut novel The Wolf and the Watchman, translated into Icelandic by Hilmar Hilmarsson, has been bestowed with the Icepick Award for the best translated crime fiction title of 2019.
The jury praises the novel as “extremely exciting, with a narrative that is compelling and beautifully written, and that Hilmarsson manages to convey in a very convincing and natural way in his translation.”
The Danish bestseller lists
Denmark’s largest book retailer Bog og Idé’s weekly crime fiction bestseller list sees Arne Dahl’s Freedom claim the No. 5 position for the second week in a row. Meanwhile Stefan Ahnhem’s X Ways to Die claims the No. 6 spot and Anders Roslund’s Knock Knock appears at No. 7.

The weekly Swedish bestseller lists
The Swedish bestseller lists for week 20 see Ulf Lundell claim two No. 2 spots, in hardback and e-book respectively, with his Weekdays 3. Also making multiple appearances this week is Stina Jackson, whose The Last Snow is No. 4 in hardback as well as No. 5 in both the audio and e-book categories. In audio she is accompanied by Arne Dahl who comes in at No. 7 with Freedom, his latest installment in the Berger & Blom series.

The Norwegian bestseller lists for week 20 see Jørn Lier Horst & Thomas Enger’s Smoke Screen, the second title in the Blix and Ramm series, come in at No. 3 in the paperback category. Hedvig Montgomery’s The Adolescent Years, the fifth installment in her Parental Magic series, meanwhile nabs the No. 5 spot in non-fiction.

‘The Wolf and the Watchman’ on the Spanish bestseller list
For the 16th week running, Niklas Natt och Dag’s debut novel The Wolf and the Watchman finds itself in the top ten of the Spanish bestseller list. This week the novel nabs the No. 9 spot.

New Swedish Netflix series ‘Clark’
Netflix has ordered Clark, a drama series about the Swedish criminal Clark Olofsson, who will be portrayed by Bill Skarsgård (It Chapter Two). The six-episode series is based on Olofsson’s autobiography Vafan var det som hände and will chart Clark’s early years until present day. Referred to as a “celebrity gangster,” Olofsson started his criminal career in the 1960s and became one of the most controversial personalities in contemporary Swedish history. Over the years, Clark gave rise to the concept of Stockholm Syndrome, escaped from prison multiple times, and committed robberies all over Europe.
Clark will be directed by Jonas Åkerlund (Lords Of Chaos) and produced by Scandinavian Content Group. Fredrik Agetoft, Peter Arrhenius and Jonas Åkerlund are the writers.

Jørn Lier Horst’s The Inner Darkness is still No. 1 on the biggest online bookstore and second biggest physical retailer in Slovakia, Martinus’, e-book list. The Inner Darkness also climbs the Top 100 list for printed titles, coming in at No. 2.

‘The Explorers’ Club and the Parrot Helicopter’ published in Norway
