The weekly Norwegian bestseller lists

Jo Nesbø’s Knife continues to stay at the top, the novel comes in at No. 1 both in hardcover and in e-book this week as well. On the hardcover list we also see Jørn Lier Horst & Hans Jørgen Sandnes’ latest activity book for children, The Search for the Magician’s Tome, appearing at No. 4.

Lars Kepler grabs the No. 1 placement on the paperback list with Lazarus, and Jørn Lier Horst’s The Cabin nabs spot No. 2.

Lastly, on the children’s bestseller list Operation Sable Forest by Jørn Lier Horst & Hans Jørgen Sandnes appear at spot No. 3.

‘Easy Money’ becomes a Netflix original series

Today Netflix announced Easy Money, a brand new six-part original series from acclaimed screenwriter Oscar Söderlund and bestselling author Jens Lapidus.

The new Netflix original series is set in the buzzing start-up scene of Stockholm and takes place ten years after the events of the feature film Easy Money – Life Deluxe (2013). The hunger for status and money is stronger than ever and the criminal world has become even more brutal, chaotic and ruthless. When the criminal and business worlds collide, loyalty, friendships and partners will all be tested in the never-ending quest for easy money.

‘The Caveman’ nominated for the Grand Prix de Littérature Policière

Jørn Lier Horst’s The Caveman, the third installment in the William Wisting Quartet, is nominated for the French literary award the 2019 Grand Prix de Littérature Policière. Founded in 1948 by author and literary critic Maurice-Bernard Endrèbe, it is the most prestigious award for crime and detective fiction in France. Two prizes are awarded annually: one to the best French novel, and one to the best international crime novel published that year. This is the second consecutive year that Horst is nominated: The Hunting Dogs was nominated in 2018.

The winning authors and titles will be announced in September.

‘Smoke Screen’ published in Norway

An explosion rocks the city of Oslo on New Year’s Eve and Norway is put on terror alert. Among the wounded is someone Alexander Blix knows well. Ruth-Kristine Smeplass is the mother of 2-year-old Patricia, kidnapped ten years ago. Blix was heavily involved in the investigation all those years back, but no trace could be found of the missing girl. As the case gains public attention once more, news blogger Emma Ramm is intrigued by the unsolved mystery. Blix and Ramm both set out to penetrate the smoke screen that’s been put up to cover the truth behind Patricia’s abduction.

The weekly Norwegian bestseller lists

Jo Nesbø’s just published Knife grabs two No. 1 spots on the weekly bestseller lists of week 23. The novel comes in first both in hardcover and in e-book. The paperback list’s No. 1 placement goes to Jørn Lier Horst’s The Cabin. Jørn Lier Horst also appears together with Hans Jørgen Sandnes on the hardcover list, where their latest activity books for children, The Search for the Magician’s Tome, is No. 5.

Lars Kepler meanwhile appears at No. 2 on the paperback list with Lazarus. Jo Nesbø’s Macbeth follows not far behind at No. 4.

The last list, the one for nonfiction, sees Hedvig Montgomery’s The Kindergarten Age climb again, ending up at No. 4 this time.

Fredrik Backman No. 4 in Sweden

Fredrik Backman’s Anxious People continues to feature on the Swedish bestseller lists. The stand-alone novel comes in at No. 4 on the e-book list for week 23.

‘Knife’ No. 1 in Russia

Jo Nesbø’s Knife, published by Inostranka in Russia, is No. 1 on Moscow Books’ bestseller list. Moscow Books is one of the leading book shops and retailers in Russia.

‘Knife’ No. 1 in Denmark

The official Danish bestseller list for the first week of June is in and Jo Nesbø’s Knife, published by Modtryk on June 6th, went straight to No. 1 on the list for hardcover fiction.
