‘Marcella’ season two premiere
The second season of Hans Rosenfeldt’s hugely popular London-set crime drama series Marcella premieres on February 19th on ITV and on Netflix in March. The series was created by Rosenfeldt and Nicola Larder, with Rosenfeldt also writing the script.
Marcella has become one of the most popular new British crime shows on ITV. The premiere episode had 8 million viewers in Britain and the average audience rating was 6,8 million viewers for the first season.
Marcella Backland is a detective who, in season one, returns to her job as a detective after 12 years. She suspects that the killer she once chased has returned as well.
‘1793’ and ‘The Thirst’ No. 2 and No. 4 in Sweden
The official Swedish bestseller lists for January have been released and Niklas Natt och Dag’s brilliant debut novel 1793 is No. 2 on the hardcover fiction list. 1793 also appears on the e-book bestseller list, where it comes in at No. 2. Jo Nesbø’s The Thirst meanwhile comes in at No. 4 on the paperback list.
‘In Every Moment We Are Still Alive’ a New York Times Recommended Title
The New York Times Book Review has chosen Tom Malmquist’s In Every Moment We Are Still Alive as one of their 12 New Books We Recommend This Week. Lauding In Every Moment We Are Still Alive as “harrowing” and a “searing autobiographical novel,” the list quotes The New York Times’ Katie Kitamura’s rave review of the novel:

‘Unwanted’ No. 2 in Norway

‘Hamilton’ TV series starts filming in 2018
Petter S. Rosenlund (The Heavy Water War) is head-writer for the international spy thriller series Hamilton which is based on Swedish author Jan Guillou’s books.
It has now been announced that Norwegian Jakob Oftebro will star as Swedish intelligence officer Carl Hamilton, who trained with the U.S. Navy Seals to become part of an illegal black ops cell within the Swedish military.
Swedish broadcaster TV4 and its streaming service CMore have commissioned the first two seasons of the show and it’s their biggest international project so far.
Hamilton will start filming in the second quarter of 2018 in Sweden and other European locations. The series will premiere exclusively on CMore next year, with a later linear airing on TV4 and ZDF in Germany.

‘Top Dog’ to become TV series
Jens Lapidus’ Top Dog is being adapted into a TV series by Filmlance and producer Teresa Alldén Willey. Veronica Zacco (The Bridge, Farang, Thicker Than Water) will be the head writer for the eight-episode show, and production is set to start in fall 2018.

‘Beartown’ shortlisted for the Audie Awards 2018
Fredrik Backman’s emotionally powerful novel Beartown has been shortlisted for the Audie Awards 2018 in the ‘Fiction’ category. The award is given out by the Audio Publishers Association in the US. The winners will be announced at the 23rd Audie Awards Gala on May 31st.

Lars Kepler’s upcoming seventh novel in the Joona Linna series is No. 1 on the official Swedish bestseller list for hardcover fiction for the fourth week of January. It is joined by Niklas Natt och Dag’s 1793 at No. 4. 1793 also makes an appearance on the e-book list and climbs to No. 2. Kristina Ohlsson’s The Flood claims the No. 4 spot on the paperback list.
