Tom Malmquist and Jo Nesbø on The New York Times’ ‘100 Notable Books of 2018’ list
Tom Malmquist’s In Every Moment We Are Still Alive and Jo Nesbø’s Macbeth have been chosen as two of 2018’s most notable titles by The New York Times.
The prominent American newspaper calls Malmquist’s In Every Moment We Are Still Alive, “[A] searing autobiographical novel depict[ing] a father struggling to cope with the tragic loss of his partner just as their daughter is born.”
Nesbø’s Macbeth receives the accolade: “The Norwegian crime writer emphasizes the noir aspects of Shakespeare’s tragedy by turning it into a fast-paced thriller about murder and corruption in 1970s Glasgow. The result has a sharp social edge as well as a timely political resonance.”
‘Lazarus’ No. 1 in the Netherlands
Lars Kepler’s seventh installment in the Joona Linna series, Lazarus, was published by Cargo in the Netherlands last week and has gone straight to No. 1 on the official Dutch bestseller list for thrillers.
‘Beartown’ longlisted for the International DUBLIN Literary Award 2019
Fredrik Backman’s Beartown is longlisted for the International DUBLIN Literary Award 2019.
Nominations are made by libraries in capital and major cities throughout the world, making the award unique in its coverage of international fiction. A panel of distinguished international judges then narrow down the list to a shortlist of approximately 10 titles, announced on April 4. The final winner will be presented on June 12.

Lars Lundström joins Salomonsson Agency
Lars Lundström is one of Scandinavia’s most acclaimed and established screenwriters. His TV series have been praised all over the world.
Lundström is the creator and writer of the incredibly successful sci-fi drama Real Humans. The series, set in a parallel, modern-day Sweden, was released in 2012 and was quickly sold to more than 50 countries. In 2015, a remake of the series aired on Channel 4 in the UK and is now in its third season. Lundström is executive producer for the applauded British adaptation, retitled Humans.
Lundström is presently working on an English language crime drama series about a celebrity chef, called Julius’ Kitchen, and on the Danish-Belgian sci-fi project Hope, about the colonization of the planet Mars.
‘The Red Address Book’ shortlisted for LovelyBooks’ Der Leserpreis
Sofia Lundberg has been nominated for LovelyBooks’ Der Leserpreis 2018. Der Lesepreis is the biggest readers’ choice book award in the German speaking region, and Sofia Lundberg is nominated in the ‘Fiction’ category for her debut novel, The Red Address Book.

‘SKAM Season 4: Sana’ published in Norway
The SKAM books are the original scripts of the worldwide hit web drama series of the same name, just as they were written.

The official movie trailer to ‘The Informer’ released
The Informer is the movie adaptation of Roslund and Hellström’s bestselling novel Three Seconds and it is set to premiere internationally in March next year.
The Informer, produced by Thunder Road Pictures (The Town, Sicario, John Wick), is directed by Andrea Di Stefano (Escobar: Paradise Lost) and written by Matt Cook (Patriots Day). The cast stars Joel Kinnaman (The Killing, Suicide Squad), Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl, Jack Reacher), Clive Owen (Closer, Children of Men, Sin City), Common (Selma, Suicide Squad) and Ana de Armas (Blade Runner 2049).
Lars Kepler, Hjorth & Rosenfeldt, Niklas Natt och Dag, Leif GW Persson and Anders de la Motte on the Swedish bestseller lists
The second week of November sees Lars Kepler repeat last week’s feat of claiming three No. 1 placements on the official Swedish bestseller lists. Lazarus comes in first on the hardcover, e-book and audio list. It is closely followed by the sixth novel in Hjorth & Rosenfeldt’s Sebastian Bergman series, A Higher Justice, which can be found at No. 2 on three lists as well: hardcover, e-book and audio. Niklas Natt och Dag’s The Wolf and the Watchman likewise stays put at No. 2, on the paperback list.
Leif GW Persson’s memoir, Master Detective Willy: the Story of My Career, reappears near the top of the nonfiction list, coming in at No. 4. Anders de la Motte’s bestselling Dead of Winter, the third novel in the Skåne Quartet, also climbs the lists, coming in at No. 5 in hardcover.
Lars Kepler and Jørn Lier Horst on the Norwegian bestseller lists
Lars Kepler’s seventh Joona Linna book, Lazarus, once again claims the No. 1 spot on the bestseller list for e-books in Norway. It’s followed by Jørn Lier Horst’s The Innermost Room coming in at No. 3. Both novels similarly feature on the hardcover list, where Lazarus and The Innermost Room nab the No. 4 and No. 5 spots respectively.
Simon Stålenhag No. 2 in China
Simon Stålenhag’s The Electric State has shot to No. 2 on Amazon China’s pre-order bestseller list. The Chinese edition will be available in stores on November 19th.
