‘Modus’ premieres in Sweden

On Wednesday 23rd September at 9pm, TV4’s Modus premieres in Sweden! Produced by Miso Film, Modus is an eight episode long TV-series based on Anne Holt’s novels about Inger Johanne Vik, primarily Fear Not, aka Modus (Inger Johanne Vik #4). Modus is TV4’s most ambitious and costly TV drama to date.

Created and written by three-time Emmy award winning duo Mai Brostrøm and Peter Thorsboe (Unit One, The Eagle, Protectors, The Team), the series is directed by acclaimed Lisa Siwe (The Bridge, Glowing Stars). Inger Johanne Vik is played by Melinda Kinnaman (My Life as a Dog) and Yngvar Stubø is portrayed by Henrik Norlén (Hotell).

‘Glass Bodies’ No. 2 in Germany

Following its publication in Germany last week, Glass Bodies has already climbed to No. 2 on Der Spiegel’s bestseller list. Glass Bodies is the first stand-alone installment in Erik Axl Sund’s new Melancholia trilogy.

New Author – Bobbie Peers

Bobbie Peers (b. 1974) made his mark on Norwegian film history when he in 2006 won a Palme d’Or for his Sniffer, written and directed by Peers himself. The award became the first of many milestones in the London International Film School graduate’s career as a director and film writer. 2015 has witnessed the multi-talented Peers’ debut as a children’s books author. William Wenton and the Luridium Thief is the first book in a forthcoming series featuring the code breaking whizz William.

‘Another Time, Another Life’ nominated for a Prix Europa 2015

The TV series Another Time, Another Life (2014), written by Sara Heldt and Johan Widerberg, has been nominated at the Prix Europa 2015 in the category ‘TV Fiction’. The series is based on the second installment in Leif GW Persson’s Story of a Crime trilogy.

Death of a Pilgrim (2013), the first part of the popular series, was also nominated for a prestigious Prix Europa in 2014. This too was written by Heldt and Widerberg, and was based on the best-selling novels by Leif GW Persson.

The award ceremony of this year’s Prix Europa will take place 23 October in Berlin, Germany.

SVT’s new comedy series ‘Vårdgården’ starts filming

SVT’s new comedy Vårdgården began filming this week. Created by Daniel Ottosson and Alexander Kantsjö and written by Daniella Mendel-Enk and Sara Young, the series centers on a private hospital owned by the severely dysfunctional family Leijon. The lead roles are played by Swedish stars like Loa Falkman, Jonas Malmsjö and Therese Andersson Lewis. The series will premiere in spring 2016 on SVT.

‘The Book Thieves’
