Lars Lundström is one of Scandinavia’s most acclaimed and established screenwriters. His TV series have received praise from all over the world.
Lundström, who began his career in the arts as an actor, has since written and created some of the most popular TV series in Sweden. Lundström’s work Brotherhood premiered in 2002. Brotherhood is a crime drama about three friends who decide to rob a bank when they realize that their company is about to go under. The hit series, which ran for three seasons, was lauded for its thrilling storytelling and realistic dialogue.
Lundström is also the creator and writer of the incredibly successful sci-fi drama Real Humans. The series, set in a parallel, modern-day Sweden, was released in 2012 and was quickly sold to more than 50 countries, ranging from France to South Korea to Australia. In Sweden, the show created such a stir in newspapers and social media that the word “hubot” (a humanoid robot) was added to the Swedish Language Council’s list of new words. In 2015, a remake of the series aired on Channel 4 in the UK and it is now in its third season. Lundström is the executive producer for the applauded British adaptation, retitled Humans.
Lundström is currently working on an English language crime drama series about a celebrity chef, called Julius’ Kitchen, and on the Danish-Belgian sci-fi project Hope, which explores the colonization of the planet Mars.
