Danish screenwriter Maja Jul Larsen graduated from Denmark’s National Film School in 2007 and has since then made a rapid rise in the film and TV industry. She has worked on some of the biggest Danish TV dramas, including the international sensations Borgen, Follow the Money and The Legacy.
In 2020 Jul Larsen made her debut as creator and head-writer with the acclaimed and awarded Cry Wolf. The gripping family drama was an immediate viewer ratings hit, was lauded in the Scandinavian press and is now sold to over 40 territories. Cry Wolf was selected in competition at Series Mania, won a Golden Eye for ‘Best Drama’ at the Zurich Film Festival, won ‘Best Series’ as well as ‘Best Screenplay’ at THIS Series Awards, and won five awards at the Danish Film Awards including ‘Best TV Series.’ Jul Larsen also emerged as the winner of the Nordisk Film & TV Fond Prize for her “outstanding writing of a Nordic drama series.”
Recently, Jul Larsen was episode writer on Borgen – Power & Glory for DR and Netflix, and she is currently developing her next TV series.

Borgen – Power & Glory, a fresh continuation of hit Danish political drama Borgen, has been set for release on Netflix April 14 in the Nordic markets and June 2 in the rest of the world.
Borgen – Power & Glory again follows Birgitte Nyborg (Sidse Babett Knudsen), her staff and the media tasked with covering her, this time in her role as Minister for Foreign Affairs. The series tackles major political issues including the relevance of the Danish Realm in the modern world, the superpowers’ battle for control of the Arctic — and not least, the climate crisis.
The series is created by Adam Price, with Per Fly directing and Maja Jul Larsen serving as episode writer. Borgen – Power & Glory is produced by SAM Productions for Denmark’s DR in cooperation with Netflix.

The drama series Cry Wolf, praised by viewers and critics alike, won the prestigious ‘Best Series Award’ and the ‘Best Screenplay Award’ at the 2021 THIS Series Awards in Aarhus, Denmark.
Maja Jul Larsen, the series’ creator and writer, was applauded for “her ability to handle a complex story and to keep the audience on the edge.”
