‘Wolf Hour’ and ‘Bestseller’ stay put at No. 1 in Norway

Faithless, based on the 2000 film directed by Liv Ullman and written by Ingmar Bergman, has premiered on SVT to fantastic reviews.
The lauded TV series is directed by Tomas Alfredson from scripts adapted by writer Sara Johnsen.
“The sinfully sexy TV series version of Faithless outshines the original feature film. /…/ It is incredible to see how Tomas Alfredson and the Norwegian screenwriter Sara Johnsen make this old story their own. They latch on to that which feels timeless about breakups and divorce. And they touch down on the most important old key scenes, whilst otherwise acting freely and independently.”
– DN, Sweden ★★★★★
“A beautiful monument to the consequences of infidelity. /…/ It’s elegant, glossy, and, just like a good flirt, utterly impossible to look away from.”
– SvD, Sweden ★★★★★
“Brilliant Bergman remake. /…/ A drama that hits all the perfect notes.”
– SR P1, Sweden ★★★★★
“Heartbreaking and piercing /…/ Beautiful, well-acted, poignant and emotionally charged – Faithless is a Swedish TV series treasure which moves you deeply and challenges our ideas about love, power, and betrayal.”
– Moviezine, Sweden ★★★★★
“This is what Swedish film should be like. /…/ This is an adaptation that gets everything right, with adjustments that truly add value.”
– Filmtopp, Sweden ★★★★
“The script, the dialogue, the actors – everything human that drives the story is magnificent.”
– TV-dags, Sweden ★★★★

It is based on Mats Strandberg’s 2017 novel of the same name, about a man who returns to his small town to care for his dementia-stricken mother, as she experiences terrifying visions of her late abusive husband.
The Home stars Philip Oros, Anki Lidén, Gizem Erdogan and Malin Levanon, is directed by Mattias J Skoglund and written by J Skoglund together with Mats Strandberg.
The anticipated horror feature has been selected for the Texas festival South by Southwest (SXSW), where it will have its world premiere in March.

Faithless premiered in 2024 at the Toronto Film Festival and will now be released on SVT Play, January 26, and air on SVT the following day.
The series is directed by Tomas Alfredson from scripts adapted by writer Sara Johnsen.
Frida Gustavsson and August Wittgenstein star as young Marianne and her husband Markus, while Gustav Lindh and Jesper Christensen take on David, Markus’ best friend, at a younger and older age, respectively. ‘Wolf Hour’ and ‘Bestseller’ dominates the Norwegian bestseller lists

Blindspår, which is freely based on Anne Holt’s acclaimed best-selling novel 1222, will premiere on Prime Video on Friday January 24. The four-part series stars Ida Engvoll, Pål Sverre Hagen, Kjell Bergqvist, Sissela Kyle, Fabian Penje and Elli Osborne.
The script is written by Sara Heldt together with director Erik Skjoldberg.
Diamonds and Rust is a story about wounds that never heal, about envy, betrayal and revenge, and about a crime so well and thoroughly thought out that it may never be solved. Not unless Hanne Wilhelmsen gets a chance to try.
