Jo Nesbø’s ‘London’ longlisted for the CWA Short Story Dagger
Jo Nesbø’s short story London, from his story collection The Jealousy Man And Other Stories, is longlisted for the prestigious 2022 CWA Short Story Dagger, an award given to the best crime-focused short story of the year published or broadcast in the UK.
The shortlist will be announced on May 13th at the CrimeFest in Bristol.
‘Everything We Didn’t Say’ and ‘Sarek’ shortlisted for the Book of the Year Award
Sara Osman’s brilliant debut Everything We Didn’t Say and Ulf Kvensler’s highly anticipated psychological thriller Sarek has been shortlisted for Bonnier’s Book Clubs’ Book of the Year Award 2022. Bonnier’s Book Clubs is the home of five Swedish book clubs, including the biggest one in Sweden. The winning book and author will be announced in October.

Clark, the anticipated Netflix series about the Swedish “celebrity gangster” Clark Olofsson, will premiere May 5.
The six episode drama is directed Jonas Åkerlund and written by Fredrik Agetoft, Peter Arrhenius and Jonas Åkerlund. Clark Olofsson will be portrayed by Bill Skarsgård.
Natthiko Lindeblad, Hansen and Wänblad on Sweden’s quarterly bestseller lists
Björn Natthiko Lindeblad’s I May Be Wrong is the No. 1 highest grossing non-fiction title of the first quarter of 2022 in Sweden, as well as the No. 4 highest grossing book across all genres. On the quarterly non-fiction list he is joined by Anders Hansen, whose bookBrain Bluescomes in at No. 2. Hansen’s collaborative title with Mats Wänblad, Insta-Brain Junior, meanwhile is the No. 1 highest grossing title in the quarterly list for children’s fiction.

This week’s bestseller lists in Norway have Jo Nesbø appear at the top of the paperback list, claiming the No. 1 spot with The Jealousy Man and Other Stories. Anne Holt comes in as No. 1 on the e-book list with The Eleventh Manuscript and makes an appearance at No. 2 on the paperback list with the same title.
The latest addition to the Detective Agency No. 2 series by Jørn Lier Horst & Hans Jørgen Sandnes, Operation Ninja, sails to No. 1 on the official bestseller list for children’s fiction.
‘The Schoolmaster Games’ to premiere in Swedish cinemas
The Schoolmaster Games had its world premiere at the Gothenburg Film Festival earlier this year, where it was described as “stylistically perfect”. The erotic queer melodrama will now premiere in Swedish cinemas April 22.
Ylva Forner’s debut feature is an adaptation of the novel with the same name by Kristofer Folkhammar, about a schoolmaster who plays secret erotic games with a student.
Tarik Saleh’s ‘Boy From Heaven’ to compete in Cannes
Tarik Saleh’s new film, the psychological thriller Boy From Heaven, has been selected to the main competition at the Cannes Film Festival.
Written and directed by Saleh, the film was shot in Cairo and is set in the University of Al-Azhar where young Adam finds himself in the middle of a conspiracy and power struggle. The film stars Tawfeek Barhom, Fares Fares and Sherwan Haji.
The 75th Cannes Film Festival takes place May 17–28, 2022.
Borgen – Power & Glory, a fresh continuation of hit Danish political drama Borgen, has been set for release on Netflix April 14 in the Nordic markets and June 2 in the rest of the world.
Borgen – Power & Glory again follows Birgitte Nyborg (Sidse Babett Knudsen), her staff and the media tasked with covering her, this time in her role as Minister for Foreign Affairs. The series tackles major political issues including the relevance of the Danish Realm in the modern world, the superpowers’ battle for control of the Arctic — and not least, the climate crisis.
The series is created by Adam Price, with Per Fly directing and Maja Jul Larsen serving as episode writer. Borgen – Power & Glory is produced by SAM Productions for Denmark’s DR in cooperation with Netflix.
‘It Takes Two’ awarded at the British Academy Games Awards
The praised video game It Takes Two received two prestigious awards at the 2022 British Academy Games Awards: ‘Best Multiplayer’ and ‘Original Property.’ It Takes Two, written by Soni Jorgensen together with game director Josef Fares, was nominated in a striking total of nine categories including ‘Best Narrative.’
