Rolf Magne Golten Andersen

Rolf Magne Golten Andersen started his screenwriting career at NRK (The Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation), where he also worked as radio producer and project leader. After ten years, Andersen decided to focus whole-heartedly on his screenwriting and relocated from Oslo to the small Norwegian village of Dale. He has since written among else the acclaimed and innovative TV series Magnus (2019) together with creator Vidar Magnussen. The successful comedy drama series was nominated for ‘Best Comedy’ at the Golden Screen Awards, and selected for the official competition at Cannes Series, where its nominations included ‘Best TV Series’ and ‘Best Script’.

Andersen is furthermore the writer and director of the podcast Natt til lørdag (2018), an NRK true crime drama. He has also written, produced and directed several audio series for Storytel, Fabel, and NRK Super.

Andersen’s other works include the comedy series Hytteliv (2017), Superkrim (2020), and Førstegangstjenesten (2019-2020). 

2022 saw the premiere of the praised TV series Headhunters, a prequel to Jo Nesbø’s novel Hodejegerne. Andersen has written the script for the series, together with Geir Henning Hopland.

Andersen’s latest project, the comedy Victoria Must Go, which he co-wrote together with Gunnbjörg Gunnarsdóttir, premiered in 2024 to great acclaim and was nominated for Best Script at the prestigious Norwegian Amanda Awards.

‘Headhunters’, ‘The Dark Heart’ and ‘The Man Who Died’ nominated at GIFF

The Geneva International Film Festival (GIFF) has unveiled the nominations for its 28th edition. Competing in the International Series section is the acclaimed thriller Headhunters, the lauded psychological drama thriller The Dark Heart and the crime comedy The Man Who Died.

Headhunters, inspired by Jo Nesbø’s eponymous best-selling novel, is written by Rolf-Magne Golten Andersen and Geir Henning Hopeland, who is also the series’ director. The Dark Heart is created by screenwriter Oskar Söderlund and director Gustav Möller. The Man Who Died is based on Antti Tuomainen’s bestselling novel of the same name.

The 2022 GIFF is running from November 4-13.

‘Headhunters’ series to premiere in 2022

C More is currently shooting its very first Norwegian original production, Headhunters, a prequel to Jo Nesbø’s novel Hodejegerne. Rolf-Magne Golten Andersen has written the script for the series, together with Geir Henning Hopland who is also serving as director.

Headhunters takes place prior to the events in the novel, and sees Axel Bøyum portraying headhunter and master manipulator Roger Brown and Martin Wallström as the star recruiter Jon Christian Wiklund. The series is produced by Yellowbird in co-production with C More and TV2 in Norway and will see its premiere in 2022.

‘Førstegangstjenesten’ the winner of a Golden Screen Awards

Førstegangstjenesten, the popular NRK comedy series written by Rolf-Magne Golten Andersen together with co-writers Herman Flesvig and Marit Støre Valeur, was this weekend chosen as the winner of the Golden Screen award for ‘Best Comedy’ in Norway. The Golden Screen awards (Gullruten) is the Norwegian equivalent to the Emmys.

‘Førstegangstjenesten’ nominated for the Golden Screen Awards

The Golden Screen (Gullruten) is the annual award for the Norwegian TV industry and their equivalent to the American Emmy Awards. Førstegangstjenesten, the popular NRK comedy series, is nominated for three awards.

Rolf-Magne Golten Andersen is, together with his co-writers Herman Flesvig and Marit Støre Valeur, nominated for ‘Best Script’. Førstegangstjenesten is also nominated for ‘Best Comedy’ and ‘Best Editing’.

The winners will be announced on May 7 and May 8.
